Calvin Capps brings 16 years of experience in education and most recently served as an assistant principal at R. L. Turner High School. Throughout his career, Capps has demonstrated a deep commitment to student success, strong relationships, and building positive school communities. He has served across multiple campuses, supporting students, teachers, and families while helping lead improvements in attendance, academic growth, and campus culture.

Capps began his career as a special education teacher and behavior resource specialist before moving into campus administration. He has served the students and staff of Blalack and Polk middle schools, Bea Salazar Learning Center, and R. L. Turner High School. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from the University of North Texas and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington. 

A longtime member of the community, Capps is excited to join the Rainwater family and looks forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families. Capps believes schools work best when students feel known, staff feel supported, and families feel welcomed as partners. His leadership style focuses on being present, approachable, and solution-oriented while always keeping students at the center of every decision. He is eager to continue the great work already happening on campus and to help create an environment where all students love coming to school each day.

Capps is a proud father of two children who attend Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD and is celebrating 20 years of marriage with his wife, Lisa, this year. He enjoys spending time with his family and creating unforgettable memories together.
