17 CFBISD elementary campuses receive school supply boxes for every student

Back-to-school is in full swing in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, and thanks to the TEXAS YES Project, all K-5 students at 17 campuses received a box of school supplies to help them start the new year. 

TEXAS YES Project is an educational nonprofit committed to closing the gap for educational equality, supporting students in San Antonio, Dallas-Fort Worth, Corpus Christi and Austin. Annually, this organization serves 150 schools, and has given supplies to more than 500-thousand students. This is the second year CFBISD students have benefited from the project. 

“Through the TEXAS YES Project donation, every single student on our campus has been given the necessary supplies to help them launch into a successful year,” said Amy Bridges, Principal of Blair ES. “It was such a joy to see the students’ faces light up seeing their new things. We are so grateful to TEXAS YES.”

On August 14, TEXAS YES, with help from local volunteers, Carrollton and Farmers Branch first responders, supplies were distributed to students at all 17 campuses.  The boxes included 16 essential items, needed to help students succeed throughout the year. 

“We were so excited to work alongside the TEXAS YES Project,” said Monica Koen, Principal of Carrollton ES. “There were so many smiles on our students' faces when they received their new supplies. We want to thank TEXAS YES for helping our Carrollton lions. What an amazing start to the school year.”
