Rainwater Elementary School students celebrated Dot Day with creative activities, inspired by the book "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds. In art class, students delved into the world of "The Dot" by reading the book and then creating their own unique artwork inspired by the story. STEM class provided an opportunity for students to connect with the author and illustrator directly. They watched a live stream presentation by Peter Reynolds, then completed a hands-on project, applying their knowledge and creativity to bring their own ideas to life.
Even our youngest Rockets joined in the Dot Day festivities. Pre-K, Kindergarten, and first-grade students participated in the Rainwater library’s September Reading Olympics challenge by designing bookmarks based on "The Dot." Their colorful bookmarks reflected their understanding of the story. Dot Day at Rainwater Elementary is a celebration of self-expression, creativity, and the power of a single dot to inspire greatness.
