Second Graders Become Scientists at Rainwater Elementary

Second graders at Rainwater Elementary recently had a blast stepping into the role of scientists! Students spent time learning what it means to think like a scientist as they practiced science safety and learned how to properly use a variety of science tools. Through hands-on experiences, students discovered that scientists are curious, careful, and always ready to ask questions. They practiced making observations, sharing their ideas, and working together while following important safety routines.

Students also had the opportunity to explore phenomena—interesting things they could observe, question, and investigate. Their curiosity came alive as they looked closely, wondered “why,” and discussed what they noticed with their classmates. These exciting experiences helped students understand that science is all about asking questions, making observations, and discovering new ideas. With lots of smiles, excitement, and learning along the way, Rainwater's second graders proved that being a scientist is fun—and they had a blast doing it!
